For those of you with a previous generation, the new Katana is still in the form factor you have already come to love and become familiar with, that is where the similarities end. Because of this, the layout and controls remain the same, therefore your training will remain relevant and unchanged.

What is the same? Lifetime warranty and truly US manufactured as always, large tactile push button power switch in the battery cap, our patented and much improved friction lock IPD stops, adjustable articulation tension, pvs14 optics interface, independent articulating auto pod shut off, remote power supply, lightweight, durable, no or illum, no auto shutoff when vertically stowed. Simple, effective, and does what you want it to only when you want it to.

What has changed? Low battery indicator, as mentioned we vastly improved our friction lock IPD stops, auto pod shut off has also been improved with compatibility with all mounts no matter what magnetic features they have, onboard microcontroller to regulate tube voltage for higher efficiency, reverse circuit protection, isolated dual power channels for tandem onboard and outboard battery use, tandem AA battery pack compatible, outboard power favored over onboard for seamless extended runtime and transition to onboard (onboard required for system bootup), external power controlled via push button battery cap no longer requiring battery pack to be shut off or disconnected, maintains zero parasitic drain even with battery pack plugged in, lighter weight coming in at below 14oz in its lightest complete configuration effectively making the Katana the truly lightest standalone system on the market, enhanced durability with injection molded material 7X stronger than the gen2 equal in strength to 6061-T6 aluminum without sacrificing weight reduction, industry leading complete system durability testing at 6ft on concrete 12 times with pods stowed and deployed in all 6 degrees of freedom, compact 00b 2pin LEMO external power port, and all this at a lower price of $1550 MSRP.
