The Ultralight Articulating Night Vision Binocular Out-board Control (UANVB-OC) “Samurai” is a patent pending articulating binocular system made of high strength hybrid fiber reinforced injection molded polymer with a full suite of out-board controls, utilized via its proprietary control pack. Using cutting edge polymer and manufacturing methods an ultra-lightweight and robust design is achieved, including an optimal single piece pod geometry. This variant of the “Samurai” binocular lives up to its name being the lightest weight full feature 18mm goggle on the market. The “Samurai” goggle system is a revolutionary patent pending binocular system which moves power and all user controls outboard and to the rear of the helmet system onto the control pack. Moving the controls to the rear of the helmet enables the user to always maintain situational awareness and positive control of a weapon while adjusting settings. This system distributes weight more efficiently across the user's head allowing for extended use time with little to no neck fatigue. This system includes features such as manual gain control, individual pod stow shutoff, IPD stops, user adjustable pod tension, IR-illuminator & indicator, and low battery indicator. Several control packs are available with traditional analog controls, digital push button controls, and several power source options such as 2X CR123A, or 4X AA for continuous runtimes of 50+, or 60+ hours respectively.
