The Ultralight Articulating Night Vision Binocular – Full Control (U.A.N.V.B.-F.C.), known as the “Manticore,” is an articulating binocular housing engineered with a cutting-edge carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite and includes a comprehensive suite of onboard digital controls. Leveraging advanced polymer materials and manufacturing methods, the design achieves an ultra-lightweight yet robust structure, including optimized single-piece pod geometry for durability and precision.
The low-profile design of the Manticore makes mounting and dismounting vehicles easier when the device is stowed. The system features the patented Friction Lock Interpupillary Adjustment, allowing users to set the interpupillary distance once and maintain it without additional tools.
The Manticore binocular provides digital manual gain control, individual pod stow shutoff, user-adjustable pod tension, an IR illuminator with indicator, and a low battery indicator for operational efficiency. It is powered onboard by a single CR123A battery, delivering approximately 26 hours of continuous runtime. An optional LEMO 2-pin port for connection to an external power pack is available.
