The Ultralight Articulating Night Vision Binocular – Full Control Ruggedized (U.A.N.V.B.-F.C.R.), known as the “Manticore Ruggedized,” is an articulating binocular housing constructed from high-strength aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum and includes a comprehensive suite of onboard digital controls. Utilizing advanced multi-axis CNC machining, the design achieves an ultra-lightweight yet highly robust structure, including optimized single-piece pod geometry for maximum durability and operational reliability.
The low-profile design of the Manticore Ruggedized makes mounting and dismounting vehicles easier when the device is stowed. The system features the patented Friction Lock Interpupillary Adjustment, allowing users to set the interpupillary distance once and maintain it without additional tools.
The Manticore Ruggedized provides digital manual gain control, individual pod stow shutoff, user-adjustable pod tension, an IR illuminator with indicator, and a low battery indicator. It is powered onboard by a single CR123A battery, delivering approximately 26 hours of continuous runtime. An optional LEMO 2-pin port for connection to an external power pack, enabling extended operational duration is available.
